Each of these advisors are steeped in expertise from within the Texas political sphere. Meet our Advisors.
Dir. of the Center for Women in Politics & Public Policy
Texas Woman's University
Nancy is the Director of the Center for Women in Politics & Public Policy at Texas Woman's University. The author of “Go Fish: How to Catch (and Keep) Contributors: A Practical Guide to Fundraising,” Nancy was an adjunct professor at George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management. Nancy is on the board for Running Start, an organization that encourages young women to run for office, and an advisor for the Veteran's Campaign, a program that encourages Veterans to enter public service.
Terri Broussard Williams
Government Exec. at American Heart Assoc.//Founder at MovementMaker Tribe
Terri has made the American Heart Association (AHA) her career home. She also serves on several boards including the Austin Area Urban League, the Annette Strauss Institute for Civic Engagement and The Association of Junior Leagues International among others. In addition to her leadership at AHA, Terri is focused on paying it forward – encouraging and building up others who strive to create meaningful and groundbreaking change through her blog, movementmakertribe.com.

Human Rights Campaign
Charlotte Clymer is currently the Press Secretary for Rapid Response at the Human Rights Campaign, the nation's largest LGBTQ organization. She also currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Center for Law and Military Policy (CLMP), the Military and Veterans Advisory Council for Outserve-SLDN, the Advisory Council for Running Start, and the D.C. Commission for Persons with Disabilities. She is a proud military veteran and transgender woman. She is based in Washington, D.C.

Annette Strauss Institute for Civic Life
Taylor is a community engagement professional dedicated to connecting individuals to new ideas, networks, and opportunities for increased social impact. Currently, she serves as Program Coordinator at the Annette Strauss Institute of Civic Life. Outside of work, Taylor also serves as a volunteer with the Girl's Empowerment Network and Speak Up! Speak Out!, member of the Young Women's Alliance, and active board member of Team Snacks, an Austin-based cycling club for female-identifying cyclists of all abilities.
Professor of Gov. & Pol. Sci.
Asmara is a full-time faculty member at Brookhaven College where she teaches courses on Government & Political Science. She is also a member of the IGNITE Texas State Council. Asmara earned her bachelor’s degree from SMU, and then earned her master’s degree from the UNT. Her master’s thesis focused on how electoral systems in Western Europe impact Islamophobia and ant-Muslim sentiments. In 2015, she received the Focus on Excellence Award and the Innovator of the Year Award at Brookhaven College. She is a first generation immigrant and a proud resident of Dallas.
Courtney Stein Lesskis, Esq.
Sr. Legal Info. Specialist
Courtney has worked for law firms and media companies in Los Angeles, New York City, and recently, Austin. She gained experience in politics by volunteering with various democratic causes, and working for a national broadcast news channel, where she spent several years navigating through a myriad of federal & state regulations, analyzing bills, tracking legislation, and researching policy. Outside the office, Courtney has devoted her time to support women-focused organizations & undeserved communities.
